Directors agree: Innovation requires cross-sector partnerships
Strong partnerships are essential if companies, public organisations and NGOs are to succeed in unlocking each other's enormous potentials and creating both better welfare and good business.
So clearly one of the very central messages of Davos and the World Economic Forum January 2018 can be formulated. “If we want to be faster at innovation, it requires us to join forces and cooperate”, says Chairman of the Board of A.P. Møller — Maersk and Siemens. For no company, public organization or NGO can solve the world's great challenges by itself.
For business, partnerships are good business in the long run. For the public sector, this is the way to better welfare and a stronger dialogue with citizens, businesses and the local environment. For NGOs, it is the way to better solutions to the problems that they are set in the world to solve. We have spoken to three directors from the private business, public and voluntary sectors to hear why they enter into partnerships, what they give and what they get back. They are:
- Divisional Director Hanne Selsholt Britz from United Steam Laundries, DFD
- Municipal director Frank E. Andersen, Gentofte Municipality
- Director Anders Folmer Buhelt, Youth Red Cross
